Colonization Question
    #3809912 - 02/21/05 09:10 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Okay so I'm on my first grow. My jars have been running for about 4&1/2 weeks now (GT strain) , and the substrate was a little on the watery side, so some of it is stuck to the glass of the jar pretty well. My question is this: is it possible for my jars to be 100% colonized but the substrate be blocking some of the mycelium so they just look incomplete? because I don't think they've been making any more visible progress over the past couple of days. Thanks

Yes it is possible... but unlikely. Patience is KEY until you have a grow or two under your belt. After you do, patience is still important but you will have a stash, and a little more experience. Go by the book until you have been successful.

Yeah I'll give it a little longer. The thing that bugs me though is that it isn't undergoing any visible changes. Thanks for the help.

that happend to me, mine was a little wet and there was just some BRF/verm stuck to the side of the jars and it looked like it was about 90ish % done, after getting impatient i was just going to take it out and cut of the uncolonized parts, but when i took it out it was 100% done underneith the junk stuck to the sides. hope that helps.

i had a jar that had brf stuck to the glass on the bottom, but the cake wasnt completly touching the glass. i finally just decided to birth it and it was just on the glass, underneath that spot the cake was colinized.
