weak spores now days?

Hi I am new here and was curious about general quality of spores lately, I had a syringe of hawaiian that was over 2 1/2 years old from from fanaticus that i started a few weeks back, they showed germination in 5 days colonized in 2 weeks,, now i ordered some new strains ecu., lipa yai and creeper,, the ecuador took 11 days to show anything and it was only in one spot 3 1/2 weeks still only about 50%, the lipa and creeper "fast strains" now at 10 days ....nothing,,,anyone else having extremely long germination times?

My outdoor grow log 6 years ago...

My pan cyans grow log from 2004!!

I never have germination rates that slow. More than likely you have something going wrong in your setup or procedures. Give ALOT more details.

ok my incubation temps are about 82-85 it has occasionaly hit 88-90 if i dont turn the heat pad off for an hour or so a day.the same conditions i used for the 2 1/2 year old hawaiian spores that germinated in 5 days . that is why i am wondering what is taking these so long. mail irradiation? weak spores? or just need to be patient? i used brf/verm for some jars and alein tek for others, the only one that germinated at all so far was the ecuador on brf and it was only at 1 point in 1 jar, nothing from creeper or lipa yai after 10 days (on both brf and alein)

INTERESTING... i was under the impression that the Ecuador strain was the weakest of the 4. if you think something is up with the spores being weaker take some spore prints from the hawaiians and keep that generation alive. hawaiian is a great strain anyway.(1 of the 2 i've ever grown)

Equadors have always been strong, and fast for me, I havent met a fresh spore that
wasnt.

Hard to say...

See, you only have 1 old syringe.

If you had a bunch of 2 1/2 yr old syringes from different vendors, and compared them to new syringes, I think you'd discover fresh= better.

With spores, anything's possible... you have to do things multiple times before you know how things work consistantly.
