Ultrasonic setup decisions
    #3807848 - 02/20/05 07:41 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

I am getting an Ultrasonic and have two options. Should i place the ultrasonice directly in my fruiting chamber? or would it be better to remote it and attach it with a long coiled hose? I dont want the cakes to be harmed by droplets.

Remote is better, in my opinion. You can fit more cakes/casings in your chamber and it takes about $5 and 10 minutes to make it remote.

Place it remotely. I put mine in the chamber and the condinsation build-up shorted it out. I don't think they were made to function in 98% humidity.

i always put it in the chamber as they come with automatic humidity gauges that shut it off at the set humidity. remotely, they just run forever, flooding the chamber.

works good too, i'll come in and nothing will be running, i open the chamber and my glasses fog right up, then after a few seconds, woosh, the UH kicks in to replenish the water vapor, then shuts of a minute or two after the chamber is shut. you can set it just a notch below 100% at low volume for best results. add h2o2 for contam conrtol. badda bing

actually sliding doors make it nice(I combined 2 pics for the below shot):

they all have lighting built in and perfect gas exchange/humidity so i hopefully i wont need to be getting in there too much besides to harvest.

rofl.. yeah i thought about a martha but i had a hard time finding some sort of shelving to to go inside of the martha.. i also didnt know if it would maintain a high enough humidity for cakes? I would love a martha basically but have never done this before and figured multiple terrariums would be a good way to have total control over multiple environments as I am trying approx 12 different strains- my buddy went buckwild on the sporeworks site. I would love any info one may have on a good martha setup though
