Hi my friends...here is the pic...it was taken by my friend Juanjo Pi?eiro...well i should say tha it grows in the Galicia region...in the west of Spain with a weather conditions similar to sourhern england... It grows in the roadsides and grasslands...during the fall... I have to say that the mush was sent to Guzman by more than 4 people...without contact between us...and all the specimens belong to the same new specie...the name i suppose will be chose by Gaston Guzman..as he make the last identification... Aboout the sclerotia possibilities...according to Guzman it belongs to mexicana sector....you know what this mean... Thanks Thor...please send it to my old email locybe@hotmail.com...

It looks more closely related to P. semilanceata than P.mexicana, but thats just at a glance. What size? Any bio-assey done yet?Edited by onetone on 08/28/01 04:49 AM.

Well specimens sent by different people were analized by Gaston Guzman during last year..according with him this is a new specie that belongs to mexicana sector..i have see the mushie and i can tell you that is not a semilanceata...Bioassays? a lot.. this mushie is usually eaten by spanish of this region ..all reports saying the same...very potent...even more than semilanceata...it appears in the portuguese-spanish frontier...

Would this mushroom spread all over Europe ? Or are the climates to different for that?

if it lives in the west of Spain with a weather conditions similar to sourhern england..it would spread pretty much all over europe..*hope so*...france, holland, belgium, germany, denmark..maybe even scandinavia...but i must say it looks like a common "garden shroom" we got up here in sweden...often misstaken for libcaps..But i sure hope it?s a new speice... Take care //stonErollEr
