People who ask questions and then call bullshit.

Whoa...What are you people doing? If you ask a question, do not immediately call bullshit or dismiss an answer as nonsense. That is what normies, non trippers, do to dismiss the psychedelic experience. Can't you see that when you don't open your mind and try to understand everything, no matter how chopped up and nonsensical it might be, that someone might put before you, you are acting just like a normie. So please don't come on this site and ask for advice and then tell everybody they suck and like to hear their own voice just for trying to give you a little help in your direction. I know I am only here to spread the love and help a lost soul in the right direction. Have some common courtesy and don't act like a jackass.

However, I've seen by your recent posts, ME, that you are a bit over sensitive yourself. I hope I didn't set you off like that jackass who PM'ed me earlier. Talk about circles! Here's some smileys to show I mean well whoops!

That song always pissed me off. By asking a question to someone in a song, they become part of the topic of the song, so the song IS technically ABOUT that person. Who writes these new-fangled pop songs nowadays anyway?!!

Yes, the song is about him. But not until one asks him if he thinks it is about him. And it isn't a new-fangled pop song. The lyrics are kinda old, it's just been covered by more modern acts (manson)

I know it's not a new song, I was being sarcastic Carly Simon or someone sang it originally.

And what about you? What you're saying right here, is maybe even more contradicting. "you sound like a normie" you say, do you consider yourself better or more knowledgeable than people who dislike tripping?

He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something seperated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." - Albert Einstein

Woleb's right. Carly Simon wrote "You're so Vain."
Nobody knew who the song was about, until last year, when she held an auction, the highest bidder was told who the song was about... but the bidder had to sign contracts stating he'd never tell ANYONE.
This is TRUE. Google it.
Many people think she was singing about Warren Beatty.
As for this thread... girls, girls... you're BOTH pretty.

That is cool, I really like the art in your sig, did you do it yourself? I assume you are keeping the music only for yourself. That is cool too.
Anyway, no I do not think I am any better than someone who doesn't trip. I am only trying to spread the Love. Have you never seen the blind block that normal people put around things they do not understand? I do not consider anything about tripping better than people who do not, hell we both live in the same miraculous world. It is just a mindset and I see nothing contradictory about my post. Let's face it, there is a big difference between those that trip and those that don't. Sorry if I touched a nerve by calling them normies but that is my term for those who leave the mysteries in the veil. I consider myself a searcher for the truth and dislike it when people just shut their mind to somthing. You seem to think I have some sort of mushroom ego, BalOon. No I only seek to spread the Love, and the benefit of an open mind!

I have always wondered about whether shrooms can expand the horizons of someone who has no real ability to think clearly, which I suppose would be an extreme case of your "normie". How can someone who does not know how to process the reality the shrooms create really learn anything from the experience?
My girlfriend being my prime example. Shes never been the most educated person (I love her anyway), but she sees shrooms as just moving walls and pictures and stuff, and cannot see that maybe what shes seeing could be how things really are. Basically she dismisses it as an abnormal process created by a chemical. Whereas I find it less easy to dismiss this altered reality (Descartes etc made sure of that).
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on how philosophy affects someones ability to deal with trips? and so spread the love! (if you've been following me, there's the link to this post).
I guess my question is, does intelligence and "all that fancy book-learnin'" help deal with the trip experience, and so stupidity (for want of a better word) make you a "normie" afterwards and immediately dismissive of your trip?
(Thanks for reading my long long post (shit this thanks makes it longer! (so does this bit (and this bit (and this bit (ad infinitum))))))

It absolutely does.
Christians have Christian trips, Philosophers have philosophical trips.
Humans are limited by our imaginations, we can't trip on what we haven't thought of...
I like Buddhist trips... part philosophy, part spirituality.

But do not confuse learning and trying to interpret your experience. The way the rational mind tries to grasp and understand things can lead an "intellectual" person into a bad mind state while under the influence of a psychedelic drug. I think persons with a good combination of street smarts, whatever those are ha, and intellectual know how are good candidates for tripping. Just reading many books does not make you better able to deal with the experience, but like Cervantes said, you only have the material that you know, or have been exposed to.
Buddhist trips are fun but can be taxing sometimes, old energy trips!
