Did you actually ask at the health food store? I woulda swore our local health food store didn't caryy it, but I asked and found out they did. if they do, it will be in the oriental food section, where they sell seaweed for sushi. Another place to try is a store that sells bulk herbs/spices.

okay....im gonna get flamed but oh well.....i dont understand what the agar is used for....im guessing its used kinda like a pf cake.....and you inoculate the agar and then x-fer it to a grain.... however....i dont understand why you cant just make a normal pf cake....with BRF and inoculate that and x-fer it to wood chips.... someone explain a little on this topic

ok wtf you stupid moron?? before post do a search about agar its all in the faq and otherwise its in the post archive you lazy banana!!
LOL ok that was the flame you wanted just becaue you asked.. :P
What you say is true! You can trasnfer a cake to grain or woodchips. Agar is used to improve a strain. Drop a few spores on agar, watch the growth and transfer the best perforimg pieces (rhizomorphic) to new agar plates. When you have nice rhizo plates transfer those to grain. You can also clean a wild sporeprint. Do as above, transfer till you dont have spores left. And then to grain, or woodchips if its a woodlover.
You can also clone on agar. Take a piece of mushroom put in the petri dish on agar. Transfer a piece of rhizo to a new plate....
But actually, this must be somewhere in teh faq.

your lost man...you need alot more reading.no offense but if you read and actually absorbed anything in the FAQ,you wouldnt ask crazy questions and you wouldnt sound like such a fool.I know that was harsh, but come one man you say in one line yove read itt, then in the next line you make it clear you dont know what your doing.maybe you should stick to growing cubes on pf cakes untill you get the hang of that, then try the harder strains.Read alot about it first.I dontr wanna flame you again bud.

I think you should inoc it with a syringe though. Plain spores wouldnt work. Which WORKS on agar..
But azurescens will germinate on pf cake yes.

one of the sponsors sells them
but ask them how big the chance is that it is a CLEAN syringe. Since Azures often are grown outside. So the spores arent very likely to come sterile.......
