Overly dry jars?
    #3802891 - 02/19/05 10:06 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

Hey everyone, I just prepared and inoculated 6 jars a couple days ago using the PF technique. Only problem is, after I boiled the jars the BRF inside looked VERY dry, almost sand-like.

So what I'm wondering is this--Should this be a problem? If so, is there anything to remedy it? Sterile water?

Thanks ahead of time for any help and for putting up with me.

Looking like sand is kindda what your shooting for so it sounds like your on track. Don't shoot any water in the jar, as long as you followed the tek (2-1-1), you'll be harvesting in a month or so.

I wasn't going to shoot water into it, it just looked so dry and like nothing could thrive inside. I followed this tek to the T: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/3372

We're at about 3 days after inoculation, so I guess we just have to wait a couple more days and see.

Thanks.

next time use 1/2:1/4:1/4 instead of 2/3:1/4:1/4. your jars maybe dry off of that mix.

I usually add a bit more water than the recipe calls for because I like to pressure cook a little longer to ensure a sterile jar. all you can do is wait and see and play around a bit. check out my pics in this forum. First Grow- jars are only 1 1/2 weeks and almost fully colonized. Good luck and Peace
