Patching casing after harvest
    #3802791 - 02/19/05 10:43 AM (12 years, 9 days ago)

Hello folks,

Who patches his/her casing after harvest? First I didnt think as if it was important. But my last casing the mushrooms rooted so deep that after harvest I could see the straw on some places.

Do you patch after harvest, and why, if you do......

Thanks,
MF

after big harvests my friend likes to put down a very little layer (basically to fill in the holes) otherwise he just leaves em the way they are.

Casing cover is impart like an organic roof. If it has holes in it, the holes exposes & allow unwanted things to come in contact with whats under the roof. If the roof on your home leaked, would you patch it? I believe you would. Same goes for patching casing covers. Just a wise thing to do, to keep the nasties out.
