Gigging guitarists post your rigs

You don't have to be currently with a band, list yer fave setup. Also mention the type of music you play.

My band was likened to Jesus Lizard, Melvins, and the Butthole Surfers .

My favorite setup was a Fender AmStd Strat with an Ibanez Destroyer for backup and heavier stuff > Zoom Driver 5000 > Cry baby wah > Peavey delay/chorus > miked Fender Showman.

Mind you this was @ 10 yrs ago.

Right now I am into my schecter 006 elite w/seymore duncan high-output pickups. I plug that straight into a crate gt3500h head, fuck all the effects and crap. This combo thrashes.

Schecter players unite!

I am playing a Schecter C-1 Blackjack with Seymour Duncans. I play through a Fender 100 Watt Stage DSP combo that is run through a Fender 4x12.

handmade classical guitar, Dean Markley acoustic pick-up, Boss delay pedal, Roland micro cube amp.

(Dean Markley? is that right? I'm unsure because it's not here right now.) the acoustic pick-up is the little bottle-cap type, that sticks onto the front of the guitar with putty-esque stuff, and ruins the finish. I'm not overjoyed with the sound of it (or the finish-ruining aspect...) but it's all I have, apart from a crappy auld mic that sounds even worse. it's not so bad.

i'm working on a building a solid digtal recording rig,
i just got a Parker P-36 and i'm looking for an amp modeler...

i'm trying to decide between the Boss GT-8 and the POD XT Live.

anyone know if Roland's dual COSMs could compete with the POD's modeling?

anyone know which one has better analog to digital conversion?

i can't find out if the XT Live has 24/96 conversion,
i doubt it's USB interface could even handle that.

but the POD XT Pro has 24/96 s/pdif in and out,
which means i could use it on a digi effects send.

the XT PRO w/ a pedal board would be sweet,
but then i might as well go w/ the TC G-Force,
but that doesn't have amp modeling or even distortion.

:sigh: i don't know what's more difficult,
saving the cash for gear, or deciding which gear to get...

I have a marshall half stack, not sure what kind, don't care much, it works good.

I use a ESP F-50, and a johnson strat-wannabe for a backup.

I use a boss-2 metal zone guitar pedal.

I play a buncha styles, oldskewl punk, metal, thrash, hardcore, emo, grunge. My older bands sounded alot like rise against, and my newer band sounds more like cheap sex (with shredding dual guitar solos).

i used a peavey 5150 halfstack, my prs mccarty solidbody and someone else's gibson sg.

at first i just used a borrowed DOD multi-effects processor, which sucked.. then i got a boss and it isn't that great either really. from now on, whenever i get around to rebuilding my rig, i'll get individual pedals for effects and maybe some rackmounted stuff.. i dunno.

1969 martin, like to play open chord jams or tune it to G, with a G harmonica and jam bob dylan or tune to whatever I'm playing but lately I've been jamming the Bobby d. Backup is a imitation 1969 martin but actually sounds better then my original ahhah.

I also like to record on my Takamine EAN10C acoustic electric for studio stuff. I really like Takamine acoustic/electrics. I have 3 and they all play good.

Mmmm... Just got my new amp the other day. Now I use a homemade SG with 2 Seymore Duncan '59 pickups into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.

i play a six string ken smith bass through an eden World Tour 800 amp and eden 410 cab. i may use a delay once a year for cool triplet crap, but i prefer the tone of just a bass and amp.

for guitars, i have a few i have made. those are what i play the most. one is like a tele and the other is like a strat. i also have a 76 les paul custom, 95 parker fly, dobro, gibson es 335, i think i have a jazz master somewhere, not sure what else. i do so much trading and whatnot. the cool thing about that is i can walk into a room and be surprised by what i find sometimes.

i dont play the les paul anymore. i pulled all the loose metal parts and i took off the strings and cleaned and polished the whole thing. then i cleaned all the hardware and wrapped each piece in lint free cloth and put everything in ziplocks. i didnt do all that because i hold them in such high reguards.... hell, after working for the gibson custom shop, i dont even really like gibsons anymore.... i did it as a gift for the first kid of mine that shows a talent for guitar. i want to give it to them in perfect shape on their 18th birthday. and hell, that could be 25 years from now which would make it close to 60 years old, but in perfect shape. i wish i couldve been so lucky on my 18th b-day.
