Cakes slow to fruit...?
    #3801174 - 02/19/05 12:02 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Hi,

I have four quarterpint jars in a fruiting chamber now, where they've been for about three days. I birthed them before seeing any pins, but the cakes look completely colonized, and I figure they ought to be showing some pins pretty soon, but they haven't yet!

How long am I going to have to wait?

sometimes they can take up to a week or more, depends on enviromental conditions, strain, maybe they were not internally 100% colonized even though they appeared to be on the outside.Could be lots of reasons but my point is just be a little patient, when the time is right and they are ready,it will happpen.probably within a couple days or so.

I just got pins on 4 of my 6 cakes the day before yesterday. It took 11 days. They seem to grow faster if you look at them less, I think shrooms might be shy.
