Is this norma?

Hi all,

I spawned some wheatstraw last week with rye grain. I went to shake the bag and mix the myceilum better and noticed that the bag was hot. Is it normal for something like this to occur? I know that when things are moist they tend to decompose and sometimes will produce an Exothermic reaction.

Any help will be greatfully accepted.

It is normal, yes.
App. 50% of the substrate are converted to CO2, water and energy during the lifecycle of the mushroom.
