 strains newbie

hey im just about to order my first batch of spores from sporelab. my first grow is gonna be getto but im soon gonna invest in some good equipment, anyways i need some ideas on wich strain would be easiest to grow in a colder room its like 60f. So far it looks like ill go with b+ and z maybe? help please hahah

personally i think you would be best with texas strain. colonizes at low temp. and low light

the temp will only be low on my fist grow till i get all the supplies. im probaly gonna try to heat it with a fish tank heater, anyone have any reports on how well that works?

TiT and fish tank heater works great... but I hope you know you are lookin at possibly 2 months of incubation at that temp

whats TiT? what kinda fish tank heater should i get for a rubbermaid pf tek. maybe ill just get all the stuff now instead of waiting.oh also i was looking at humidity and temp guages and
but the humididty it looked like only went up to 68% and wouldnt register afetr that, is this possible or was i confused?

you should get a submersible fish tank heater
some humidity gauges go up to a certain number then just read high after that. I bought a hygro/thermometer for $20 that reads 20%-100% +/-3%. I'm not understanding the question all the way though

Honestly my man... your gonna want some supplies now. i thought the same thing when i fisrt started about six months ago. i started with nothing but a myco bag and a syringe and as it starts growing you start thinkin'... what am i gonna do with it leave it as a cake or case it.. then i went well it's getting pretty colonized now i'm gonna need something to case it with(yes i cased on my first grow not as hard as everyone makes it out to be). after that i just said ya know i'm just gonna get everything. your gonna need it anyway.plus it's always better to be prepared. shit until today(not actually today prolly gonna be a week) i was still sterilizing the same syringe i got with the spores.

I would get a B+, Golden Teacher, or equador. From of course www.thehawkseye.com By far the best and most realiable spore company. also invest 25 dollars to walmart and get a tub in tub inncubator with submersible water heater. Good Luck and Peace

my first time i kept my jars in a closet at 70f and it took well over two months for the majority of them to fully colinize. what i find is inexpensive and convenient is to put jars in a thin cardboard box and tape all seams of the box where light could get in. then just place it directly against your heating register of your house(as long as it is not ridiculously hot) and forget it is there for a couple weeks.

thanks for all the tips, the TiT sounds like a good idea, I've decided to buy all the stuff now as i priced everything i need out and its about $150 incl 3 spore syringes from sporelab. So i figure any money i spend now i will hopefully get back within a few months. thanks for all the tips. peace

Make sure that your fish tank heater is fully submersible. You don't want to burn your house down.

And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk ...four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

Well, it depends on what wattage you have, of course. But most of them are hot enough to burn a hole through a rubbermaid.
