you need to put it back in your incubator and the myc recolonize before you move it to the fruit chamber

yeah but you need certain amount of substrate to casing material. It's not like crumble one cake and throw it in a tub with some verm and coir. 3/4 to and inch of substrate is good for 1/4 top and bottom of casing material.

It is best to case with coco for grains.
From what I have read, it is not worth doing all that for brf.
But I have had much better results casing my brf in verm, rather than to leave them as cakes.

4.5 parts sphagnum peat moss,1 part gardening lime 1 part vermiculite. screan all the wood bits out of the moss with mechanics cloth. add the lime and vermiculite. mix well while its all dry. Soak it real good and let it sit. put on some rubber gloves scoop out a handfull and squeeze the water out of it. A good hard squeeze so that it looks like a baseball. Break it up and use it for casing. I've never sterilized this. Had good luck and an Incredible first flush growing on straw

Typical peeps get more from casing because it's harder to get cakes to burst with growth, i've seen several people put casings to shame when it comes to overall yield....just some fyi.

And compost is a really good sub. for anyone intersted,
