Did I Case Right?
    #3797990 - 02/18/05 01:03 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Took my spawn bag and crumbled it for a casing.
1/4 case on bottom
1/2 to 3/4 substrate
1/4 case on top
My question is...if I spread it to thin(the substrate) in a pan that probably is to large for my casing...who would this effect growth? I have had to patch several times
Question #2....I will be fruiting this in a poor mans pod anything I should take note of since this is a casing?

looks good to me. It's better if you are closer to 3/4 to 1 with substrate and the casing layers you have. but it should be fine., especially if you are patching

the RH in the PMP doesn't need to be as high as if you were fruiting cakes.

Let me know how it goes

"I like cigarettes, Miss Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come alive from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind---and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

The thinner the substrate layer, the more surface area, you will get more mushrooms, but not as big.
The deeper the sub, the bigger the mushrooms, but not as many.
You can controll this by cutting the tray and taping to desired size.
