Astral proyection?
    #379783 - 08/27/01 07:34 AM (22 years, 3 months ago)

Hi, guys I want to know for those who can astral project at will, if that is something that you learned or is a gift since you are born.
The reason I am asking is that I am getting a little frustrated with my efforts, I had only astral projected a couple of times and they were all unintentional, I have been practicing all different methods but I can not brake the exit , if you have any advise please help.
Thanks

I personally have never had an OBE, but from my experience with other experiences that could relate to the experience (???) Whenever I "try" something... it doesn't work. If something starts happening, and I catch on to it, and try to control it... it goes away. Not sure where I'm going with this...

Deep in the vortex I rest... clueless to time, for madness has its own circle.

I have your same problem, on a mid-day nap about 4 months ago, I seemed to have awaken but I noticed myself lying under me then I moved around the room and noticed I had what seemed like no limits, then I paniced and woke up, this had happened to me 2 other times in slightly similar scenarios, then I tryed to learn technics and had absolutley no luck. Thanks for the link Jared looks like a nice site.

I wasn't able to astally project from birth, other paranormal talents, yes, but astral projection wasn't one of them. It used to be so difficult just to get the bond between my body and me to even vibrate. Then I realized I was trying too hard. "thinking" too much so to speak. Here are two methods that I have used with great success.

1.)The easiest (For me anyway) Take a "cat nap" or "power nap" during mid morning to early afternoon. When your still willing to go back to sleep but your ok w/out sleeping. Definately not exhausted. When you are starting to fall asleep try to think about the noises that are going on around you, soon you will find that your body is actually asleep but you feel wide awake. Thats the beginning of the projection. Simple concentration on the noises or on objects you know are close by will allow you to leave your body. If your in High School still this is an excellent way to sleep during a lecture but still know what is going on. Hehehe. (Oh, When I say simple concentration I don't mean like when you try and memorize something, just thinking casually about the sound or object, maybe whats making the sound, or what your clocks hands may be doing.)

2.) This calls for more formal concentration, but follows the same principles as the above method. This is done at night before you go to bed. Make sure your not dead tired so you may want to go to bed early. Lay flat on your back with your legs straight and your arms at your side. You should be able to relax and still keep this position. Now just relax and slow your breathing. Feel your toes start to go limp, then your feet then your legs and so on up to your head. After you are totally relaxed think about becoming lighter. Perhaps think about floating in the air. If you are relaxed enough you should start to feel a mild floaty feeling and most likely some vibration. Once you feel floaty start thinking about the corner of your ceiling, think about what it looks like. Think about going over to the corner. At this point you may feel more vibration, and you may feel panicked (even though you know what is happening, and you know you are doing it) If the panick is too much just back down back into your body and slowly start moving your arms and legs again. You can always try again. If your not too panicked try to get to the corner. Then if everything has gone well you should be able to see the corner, and the rest of the room for that matter, but it won't feel like your seeing with your eyes, more like just knowing where everything is. You can journey around your home like this, or even your neighborhood, but for deeper travel you need to do another seperation.

After you get it down a few times, you'll find that you can project whenever you want and not have to go through the trouble of using a "technique". Hope this helps.

No problem. Always greatful to share info with any open minded individual. If these two don't work for you or anyone else (Like I said they were the easiest for me, but everyones different) Then I'll be more than happy to post other methods aswell. I've got plenty of books on this subject and closely related ones.

Good Luck

John

The easiest way I find is to set my alarm clock for a couple of hours before I need to get up. When it goes off, I get up, make a cup of tea (For the mind stimulating effects of the caffeine), and go back to bed to drink it. Once I've finished it, I lie down, close my eyes, and try to concentrate energy into my third eye until it's literally buzzing. I allow myself to fall into a meditative state, and after a while will begin to dream. The trick it to try and remain conscious of the fact that you are dreaming, without breaking the dream, as I often find that once I realise I am dreaming and become lucid, this wakes me up.

I would like to thank you also Johnny, That first tek sounds wonderful, I've already tried a very similar version of the second tek from an online course at mysticweb on Astral Traveling with no luck. I've reached the point of vibrations twice with that method but never broke free.
