beasters, are like hard nugs with orange hairs hydroponically grown for mass production. chemical taste. we call them chem rocks. from B.C. I believe.
headies are the good nugs.

Beasters around here are BC buds. Headies are chronic, dank, what have you. If it's a good dealer you're getting it from they should be able to name the strain.

Yeah, beasters are commercially grown nuggets that have a real neutral smell and are generally a little cheaper than headies, which are the true nugs. Like Northern Lights, Jack Herer, White Rhino, Blueberry, etc. Yummy!

Beasters generally go for around 300 an ounce, 50 bucks an eighth. Nugs go for around 400 an ounce and 60 an eighth.

This is really interesting.
I haven't smoked in five years, but I have friends who do. I was hanging out with a friend who had a big bag(like an ounce or so) of "beasters". It looked like less than an ounce(I guess because it is so dense). The nuggets were all really small and really hard. There were a lot of stems(like the clipper didn't really give a shit) and a lot of shake(little leaves that came off of the buds). The guy said that it was still good though. He said it wasn't "amazing", but it was mid-grade quality.

So, uh, they both fit under chronic in my article? The THC percentages are based on my personal experience and research from around the net. While we're on the subject of names, if you have a common name for any of them, I would appreciate it to add to the article. Any other comments, corrections, or suggestions for improving the article are welcome.
Quote:
Types of marijuana Low grade marijuana ---- THC: from less than 1% to almost 3% Names: stress, schwag, brickweed, dirtweed, ditchweed, chocolate More brown than green, very dry, lots of seeds, little to no hairs and crystals, not much bud on the stems Usually, it was compressed at some point (thus the term "brickweed"). Rarely smells strongly at all, rarely tastes better than ass.
Mid grade marijuana ---- THC: from 3% to 6% Names: mids, regs More green than brown (often described "at least it's green"), often some seeds, few hairs and crystals, fair amount of bud on the stems Not usually compressed. Usually without a strong discernable smell, quickly tastes bad and bites the throat
High grade marijauna ---- THC: from 5% to around 28%, most is from 6% to 12% with really good going from 10% to 20% Names: chronic, hydro, krypto, sensimilla ("without seed"), beasters, headies Green, with red, orange, purple, hairs and crystals, plenty of bud per stem, rarely any seeds Never compressed Usually has a strong distinct smell (different for most strains), and distinct taste (different for most strains)
Almost all the highgrade marijauna is from named strains (see "the cannabible" or "the big book of buds") which are discernable by their own look, smell, taste, and high. The term "hydro" has nothing to do with whether or not it was grown hydroponically. Beasters are not quite as good as headies, and "headie" probably refers to the upper kolas of the plant

Wow!! Good reply!! I think that beasters would have to be in a category in between mids and high grade, though.

Well being a part of the BC bud scene I resent people looking down on the term "beasters" as in the usage I've seen its often used to refer to good ol BC bud, which IMO is a staple. I agree with delta9's piece, they are both to be cherished.

the only reason people look down on beasters is cause they are omni-present.

beasters are grown by the asian mafias in canada. thats why they are lower grade they grow for quantity its usually a strain like big bud.they never let the buds mature properly either. first they rent a big house and fit as many plants as they can.they are usually underpowered grows(not enough watts) they also use tons of ozone generators for odor control wich is why they have no taste or smell. then since no one will buy that crap in canada they export to the US
headies are just quality home grown buds

id rather smoke some high quality regular budd like sexy mexi's over beasters anyday! ugh......i cant stand em. u have to break it up so much in my experience, otherwise it just turns the budd into a solid lil charcoal peice in the middle wich is nasty tasting. in general beasters dont taste too good to me at all. very harsh on the throat in my cases. alot of times they dont even get me high. im not a snob with pot for the most part, if there is such a thing. but over the years ive just grown a real nagative take on em. just my .02
