new drum kit
    #3792858 - 02/17/05 12:36 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Went secondhand and picked up this Yamaha, 10 months old with 2 months warranty still left on it. Ziljian 18 crash, 14 hihats, toms are 10, 12, 14--22 bass--14 snare. On ebay new one 350 + 30 postage and i picked this up for 260.
The guy wanted 300 so i calls him, he describes it to me and i said, if i want it you'll drop it to 250 he said the add did not say ONO, i said i could buy one for 350 he says yes plus postage, 250 i says again and that includes everything including the stool, wait till i ask my dad, he comes back and says 260 excluding the stool, ok says me i'll come and try it out.
Man it looks and feels brand new, great build and with a little tuning, which i'm shite at it'll be a good kit. These are the sizes i wanted and i feel like i did well, it's stressfull looking for one but i got what i wanted, happy aint the word to describe how i feel.

Is that in American dollars? if so, wow!

Thats a good deal for just the set. I paid $500 for a similar set. Including the cymbols and hardware, all together I spent close to $900 for my 9 piece set.

UK Pounds for that kit, needs a few things done to it but tried it tonight with some friends and it sounds excellent, not nearly as good as the stage custom though, jamming sat and sun to and loving it.
Do you have a hole cut in your bass drum, it sounds pretty good without one but trying to get the perfect sound as you know, thats some nice cymbals you have there.

No, it doesn't have a hole, although at some point I am going to buy a head that does. In my opinion it dosen't make too much of a difference and I wouldn't say one sounds better than the other, however, the hole makes recording much better.

Not bad, I'll have to post my kit when I get my hands on a digital camera in a few days.
