I Cased!!!!.......???
    #3792337 - 02/17/05 10:14 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

This is the process:

1 broke up bag of substrate (inside of it)
2 sterilized container..... nuked coir and vermiculite
3. about 1/4 inch on bottom.....3/4 inch subsrate......1/4 inch
4. Misted with distilled water
5. covered and put to incubate for 3 days (at 80 degrees)

I removed the lid to fan this morning and there was a lot of condensation on the lid.
Am I doing anything wrong?
Whats with the condensation...is this normal?

Moist casing layer, trapped and nowhere to go...condensation is normal.

the condensation on the lid is normal from water evaporating out of the casing material, but my Q for u was how deep is your substrate? that 3/4" casing depth MAY be a but too deep, but then again maybe not, i'll prob. be going w/ .5" next casing

"I like cigarettes, Miss Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come alive from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind---and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

That's his substrate depth, not casing layer.

^there's your answer^

I have used deeper casings before it may take a little longer to colonize but I usually get an extra flush with more casing
