Would some mind clarifying this for me?
I read some info on the net stating that pan.trops, and pan. cyans are slow to colinize, and other things i read say there very fast. Whats the truth...pleeeaassseee tell me.

On pure birdseed, they colonize the substrate rapidly(with liquid mycelial expansions mixed evenly throughout the substrate), but they do not look very tenacious. The clone I've observed seems to grow almost sclerotia like masses in scattered locations, while the rest of the substrate is fully colonized but "see through" so to speak. However, when the birdseed was transferred from the quart jar to a terrarium and some pasturized horse dung on was placed on it, the mycelium tore through it.
When making spawn, I highly recommend adding some percentage of fully composted dung to your "nutrient rich" source(ie. birdseed or BRF) because it grows a lot stronger in the presence of dung.
