Syringe shelf life
    #379047 -

I had 1 syringe of Matias Romero strain from March 1999 in the fridge and out of curiosity inoculated a PF jar with it 5 days ago.
All inoculation points show nice growth.

Anno,

I've found that keeping syringes in the dark at the bottom of the fridge where it's coldest will preserve spores for a long, long time. I keep prints this way, too.

I have some Cambodia syringes I made myself and some Pan Trop prints in cold storage. They're all about 8 months old.

Peace.

Interesting story-

I had purchased some spores from ryche hawk about ... well July of 99 I think... indeed, right around the same time I lost my license. Well I had my little experiments and what not, then had some extra spores in the fridge. So I gave my buddy them, and just recently he finally cultured them at his school and they germinated with no contams, and might I add they went through living in room temperature many times throughout the last 2+ years. Including being transported in a car without A/C in AZ summer heat for 2 hours. (105F or so). Just shows you how long #1 spores stay viable in water #2 how good that little bit of masking tape works for keeping contams out #3 how fucking good ryche hawks spores were in the past (not to say they aren't now, just have no data)
