will the casing upside down cake work?
    #3789389 - 02/16/05 03:26 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

i asked one person already and they gave the thumbsup but id like a majorities opinions. ive turnned some rather large casings upside down and dropped em on the geolite in my fruiter. this chamber has propper gas exchange, its got 2 one foot bubblers under 4 inches of geolite + two air stones on the walls, an exhaust hole with tyvek at the geolite level. it also has an ultrasonic humidifier hooked up. i think ive got humidity and gas exchange down but im having problems with the temp bein to low. ive got one fish tank heater in the geolite and a reptile heater (heat rope) in there and im still not maintaining a constant temp. any tips on what i can do to keep the temp up and is this casing upside down thing gonna work?

personally i use a reptile heating pad underneith the whole case. of course i have a 66qt. rubbermaid tub that is one big cake so i'm not sure if my method would help you because you use a geolite setup so i'm not sure if the heat would make it to the cake because they are raised but it's worth a try. maybe the heat ropes and rocks aren't heating the cakes and instead heating the sides of the case. they are nice cakes though. very nice!
