Movies/documentaries about drugs

Does anyone know of any good movies/documentaries/TV shows about drugs (especially psychadelics) and/or the drug war? I just watched the Peter Jennings "Ecstacy Rising" video and it was very well done. That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for, not fictional movies. If anyone knows of any let's hear them.

I don't think a documentary can get any better than "Shamans of the Amazone".by Dean Jefferys
It shows unbelievably perfect how ridiculous the war on drugs is,who and why promotes it, and is full of tearunning interviews from terrence mc kenna and many more of the psychedelic family.
It focuses on the true need of the moment ,which is planetary health and how people get to become more sensitive about it, by using DMT.
It is the spiritual journey of one of us,.. deep in the heart of the Amazone, where he meets a shaman, who takes him to the unexplored ritualistic field of ayahuasca and the strugle to save the Amazone, all the way to Amsterdam, where there is a church-type of thing where a strange combination of christianity, ayahuasca rituals and nature worship, is fighting to get ayahuasca legalized
I can't stop myself running into tears every time i remember it........ i get soo emotional when i remember any part of it.......its as if it has been directed by the shroomery members or something!
It contains detailed descriptions of DMT trips (yes, visuals included) from mc kenna and many many other wonderfull people.........it is the most important video i have ever seen in my life, EVERY SHROOMER NEEDS TO SEE THIS.
I wish i could copy this for every human in the world...
I have seen it 20 times and could see it for another 2000 times!
Shit i know i sound like i m gonna sell this video but....damit YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!!!!
WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE OUR OWN RELIGION WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE WHO WE WANT TO BE
VIVA AYAHUASCA!!!

I just watched "Getting High: The History of LSD" and it was pretty great. It was basically a pro Leary/LSD film and told alot of information about the CIA's involvement in LSD research. Good stuff, I reccomend it.

Nice thread, I've been collecting documentaries about drugs for a while so I think I can help. Most of this is available in P2P networks.
"Hoffman's Potion" is, IMO, the best documentary on LSD. In second place is "LSD: The Beyond Within" (a BBC doc). "Getting High: The History Of LSD" (from The History Channel, 2001) is not as good, but acceptable.
"Science Frontiers: Ancient Astronauts" is a good documentary about shamanism and consciousness.
"Terence McKenna, The Last Word" is available in both video and audio, and if you count Terence among your heros you'll love this interview from the same guy that made the already mentioned "Shamans of the Amazon".
There's also "Aldous Huxley: The Gravity of Light", which is the only documentary I know about Huxley.
"Midn States Highzzz" was a great conference and there's a DVD which includes lectures and interviews with Sasha and Ann Shulgin, Alex Gray, Ralph Metnzer, etc.
There's a bunch of movies made by or about Timothy Leary. Some good ones: "How To Operate Your Brain" by Leary, "Timothy Leary's Dead", "Timothy Leary's Last Trip" and "Beyond Life With Timothy Leary".
I also recommend "Maybe Logic", a documentary about the life of the greatest, the Pope, Robert Anton Wilson.
"The Acid Test" with Ken Kesey and the Pranksters is a pretty good.
"Attack of the happy people" is a good doc about MDMA from Israel.
There's an eposode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit about the War On Drugs. It's excelent.
Although not directly related to drugs, I recommend any Joseph Campbell documentary. My favorite is "Sukhavati: Place Of Bliss".
And finally, try to find "Reagan's Speak Out On Drugs". It's not a documentary, but I promess you'll enjoy it.

Yeah, Shamans of the Amazon is an excellent documentary. It also includes The Last Word with Terence Mckenna. Dean Jeffrey is a very cool guy, when I got my dvd, it wouldn't play right, so he sent me another copy right away. Definitely worth checking out. Also, here's something to look forward to http://www.maps.org/avarchive/igwana/Entheogen.mov

the best movie to watch on drugs is 'Naked Lunch' . Its a rendition of the William S Burroghs book. I found it at my local library once.
