I ordered 24 jars from a shroomery sponsor, and some syringes of Ecuador from spore works. Its been 18 days since inoculation and over half of my jars have developed what I'm 90% sure is Penicillin. Each syringe tip was flamed and then wiped clean with alcohol. Since the jars were sent sterilized how could something like this happen? The jars with penicillin haven't even shown signs of myc growing yet. Is there any way to fight off this? Any help would be much appreciated.
It's hard to tell if the problem comes from the syringe. Try making a test jar in your next batch. To do this, you simply don't inoculate one jar, if the other inoculated jars get infected but the test jar doesn't, then it could be the syringe or the inoculation process. Anyway, sporeworks is an excellent vendor and if you have a bad syringe, they will most probably replace it with a new one.
