im thinking of adding another tub exclusivly to collect
spores. my question: should i get a coolspray humidifier to
put out moisture or just put a 50/50 mix of perlite/verm on
the bottom of the tub. lookin for low maintenance but i
wanna do it right.

You mean start another terrarium so that you can grow shrooms, and get spores from the shrooms in this terrarium?

Use perlite for humidity, it's easier than a humidifier.

If you have a cool mist and a timer then use them. If not use perlite. Perlite works just fine, but I would prefer to use a cool mist if I had it. But going out and buying one just doesn't seem practicle right now.

Use perlite if you want low maintenance. And if you don't feel like fanning, hook up a fishtank bubbler to your setup and you don't ever need to open your grow chamber except to pick your mushrooms.

With perlite fanning needs to be done a few times a day or your output could suffer. With a cool mist no fanning is necessary and you can get bigger mushies with less work.
