Will veils always break on abhorts? Is there a specific way of identifying a abhort. Now I understand what it is ( mushy will not fully develop)...My cakes started pinning two days ago...and I want to make sure I know what Im doing. A normal shroom will fully develop within 3-5 days. Can you identify Abhorts on..say, the 2nd day? Thanks for any help.

no, the veil will not seperate. why do you think it is called an ABORT? it dosent fully develop

Not in 3-5 days, then how long for you?
An abort is a mushroom that stops growing. When you spot a shroom that hasn't grown for a couple of days, that's an abort. With experience, aborts can be spotted early on.

Thanks for the help Shiz. I think youve responded to nearly all my post. You always give respectable advice, unlike "Sir Tokes-A-Lot", what do you think I am, an idiot..."Thats why there called ABORTS"---Yea...ok. duh? Ive done plenty of reading, so I definetly know the basics to some degree. Most all of my posts are put out there to get other opinions to double check that Im on the right track. thinpinny I have been fruiting the magic fruit for only a month but i have grown well over a 1/2 # dried. abhorts manifest in all forms and stages. on the amizonian pf strain i have found that the cap will darken rather than lighten as it gets larger. another tell tale sign, the cap will begin to make a point or triangle shape rather than a round shape. the cap sinks in and starts to darken. I have had abhorts from tiny pins that havn't darkened red for the cap yet, and mushrooms that have broken the veil have abhorted. you can't count on any parameters where abhorts are concerned. check your trays frequently. any cap that is very dark red, almost brown and in the shape of a triangle rather than a ball is most likly an abhort. if you are still unsure, wait for the cap to turn black. they all turn black. on another note, i've been watching the threads for some time. there are a few of you out there that find it necesarry to demean ones questions with insults and banter. the only stupid questions are the ones not asked. in a time as advanced as ours the only thing you find missing is humanity. simple kind words or gestures to comfort those around us. oh and by the way " MEAN PEOPLE SUCK"

Thanks Paulie..thats a big help. Since Im new at this..I find it amazing how fast pin form. I have 51 now on a single cake..last night I had 24 and the two days ago it was 6. It was in my terrarium for nearly 3 weeks and nothing. I found the prob..went to a poor mans set-up and sprayed for two days. At first I thought I was doomed. So I was definetly a happy camper when I saw the first 3 pins. But Im not sure I would have gotton that far had'nt it been for the GOOD advice givin from a select few. Its the tiny details you have to watch for, if you do that..success rate could be nearly 100%..The Tek isnt difficult its the little problems that test you..and that will tell if you have, Patience, patience,patience!
Oh..777d..., Aborts are more primo than the adult counterparts...definetly dont let those go to waist.

GOTTA AFIRM MAN ABHORTS ARE PRETTY GOOD. I EVEN EAT THE BLACK ONES. I CAN COUNT THE PINS IN THE HUNDREDS ON MY CASINGS. ABOUT HALF OF THOSE ABHORT BEFORE THEY ARE A QUARTER OF AN INCH. ABOUT HALF OF WHATS LEFT MAKE IT TO ONE TO TWO INCHES AND THE REST LUNCH ON WEDNESDAY!
