Just an idea!! Hydrate some pop corn and sterilize it. One would have to find the right mixture of water so that the kernels would not crack during sterilization. Colonize it with you favorite strain, preferably cyan or azure because they are the strongest. Once colonized let it dry out again. Through that stuff in an air popper. Eat the pop corn. Now besides the fact that most of you THINK the heat will kill the psilocin to a point at which it wont pack a punch, what do you think? Sit back watch a movie and trip away.

Im sure it may not kill 100% of active chemicals, but considering it would be in mycelial form there wouldnt be much to start off with. you would have to eat POUNDS of popcorn before you experienced ANYTHING

lolzz

Yep...we used to drink Shroom Tea in the 70's with Liberty Cap's and we got baked...and good too.

And we used to make Spaghetti too.

Funny story for you...about Spaghetti :

I used to hang out with this married couple in the 80's.
Her brother rented a room from them.
They were very cool people.
Well her brother was completely straight...real straight type.
He used to come home and expect her to have dinner for him...he was sort of a jerk.
One day we all went picking Liberty Caps.
You guessed it...we made Spaghetti for dinner.
Her brother comes home...we are all baked.
He goes in and helps himself to the Spaghetti without asking...served his ass right in my book...since he was always eating their food and took advantage of his sisters good nature.
Well he started tripping hard...and he seemed to have a pretty good time.
The next day...he was a fucking asshole about the whole thing.
Telling us we should have stopped him and shit.
But he had a great time the night before.  :smirk:

Sorry to ramble...thought I'd share.

Well lets see if it will work.

Psilocybin breaks down at 170 degrees F. So where does pop corn pop at? After a little searching I find that popcorn pops at 300 degrees F. I think it would kill the Psilocybe in the mycelium. With a side note that there is not much Psilocybin in the mycelium to begin with.

As for tee, you do not boil the mushrooms! You simply use warm to hot water (150F to 170F) and seep the mushrooms.

We actually did boil the Liberty Caps in the boiling water when we made shroom tea.

From Erowid:
MELTING POINT: 220-228? C (Crystals from boiling water) (428-442.4 F)
MELTING POINT: 185-195? C (Crystals from methanol) (365-383 F)

Psilocybin Mushroom Chemistry

Where did you get that 170 degrees Fahrenheit figure, Cyber?

- Also, great story, Roadkill.  Sounds like he got his just desserts!

so land crab, what you are saying is that it is okay to dry shrooms at 150 f in a food dehydrator and it is okay to boil shrooms in tea

I don't know much about chemistry, but those are the figures. For example, I don't know if the molecules become more unstable or degrade somehow at temperatures less than the lowest temperatures I quoted, and how time might factor into this. I wish I did know. Maybe someone can enlighten us..?
