Gabatril
    #3761416 - 02/10/05 11:24 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

I have clinical anxiety. Perhaps its Generalized Anxiety Disorder, perhaps not. Either way...I was recently prescribed Gabatril, and had a few questions.

A) Does anyone here have any experience with them (preferably medically speaking, as opposed to for recreation)?

B) What was your dosage?

C) What are your thoughts about it?

Thanks!

Making the noise "penicillin" is no substitute for actually taking penicillin.

I took Gabitril for a month. I started at 1mg/day and increased to 4 mgs./day.... I found that it did not work form me.. At the time, I was trying to stay away from addictive Benzo's,(Like Ativan, Klonopin and Valium), and gave the Gabitril a shot... It just made me feel uncoordinated and dizzy, and my panic attacks still remained.... I eventually went back to taking 2 mgs. of Klonopin per day along with 150 mgs. of Zoloft. It's been the ONLY thing that has worked for my Panic Disorder..... And in a way, it,( the Klonopin), also "peps" me up and makes me feel reasonably happy. Where as the other above metioned Benzo's didn't do shit.

Perhaps Gabitril will work for you... If not, investigate other avenues of medication(s) and/or therapy.

My 2 cents.

Yeah I used to be on one a while ago, but a nasty side effect of beta-blockers is often to cause/increase depression, and lucky me...I got more depressed so I had to stop, lol.
