read up for ralphsters tek. i would also recomend using finch seed, i guess it is a better spawn substrate? if you arent sure if that syringe will work then you can always give it to me and ill give you a nice fresh pes hawian print or syringe ; ) for it.
one plus one plus one equals three

ralphster, the tek reads that the mycelium must be kept between 80-85 degrees. will i absolutely need to purchase a heating pad to get the temps up from 70 degrees?
when mixing the spawn with the compost are you literally crushing up the cakes and stirring it into the compost?
will a composted bovine manure or composted horse manure from home depot work well?
any idea what you would you estimate for time from innoculation to fruiting?
how long do you think a syringe of pans can last kept in a cool area.

thanks again..just got back from home depot..didnt have any "finch seed." All they had was mixes..so i drove to "Lowes." They had thistle and that looked like the kind of bird food i have seen in "finch" bird feeders. hope i did the right thing.
ralph, what kind of time frame should be expected from incoculation to fruting.....whats your opinion on my other question about the composted horse/bovine manure purchased out of home depot type stores? what kind of yeild should one see with one syringe?

i thought i made the right decision with the thistle...my heart kind of sank when you wrote that wasnt the same seed you used...i ran out to the garage to see if it was even put out by "penningtons" and lucky enough it is...im hoping it will do...it looks like thousands of little rye seeds..or mouse turds.
wish me luck... any guesses about yield?

i take it the water in the pressure cooker should be quite low...the vermiculum in the first batch of jars got mixed with the thistle...not should if i should trash them since there is no barrier and the two consistances are different.
