How much light?

I just birthed my PF Cakes into a terrarium with perlite for humidification.
I have them in a dark corner, so i moved a small lamp (40 watt bulb) near it for light, about 1 ft away.
How much light do they need per day? Is my light too close?

i have mine about a foot away, but as long as it doesnt make your terrium too hot it will be good....sounds like yours will be fine.

All I've been using is light thur the window.This has always worked.
Now I'm experimenting with light.
