Bad news
    #3772454 - 02/12/05 11:10 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

So I dont really know what to think right now because the doctor told me today that in his best medical advise he would say that the tumors in my breast are active but there is a very small percent that he could be wrong. Im sooo freaked out now. I dont really know how to feel. I am going back in to Baylor tomarro and I think this time I might have to stay a few days. Oh man. I never realy thought that I would have to deal with something like this just last weekend I was hanging out have a blast with friends and now I cant do anything but lay down cry and a few times throw up because of the stress. Anyone here know someone that had breast cancer and know what I m about to possible go through .. Everytime I get high I snap out of my bad moods but Im high right now and its not going away! I dont know what to do with myself. any advise?
much love
kristi

Damn, that sucks. I'm sending love and positive thought in your direction. Keep your head up, girl. And don't be afraid, life is a journey that teaches... Sounds cheesy but I'm trying to help.  :heartpump:

www.ctrf.org/cim/pdfs/singh.pdf

copy this pdf, take it to your doctor, and discuss.

Edit: that one is fucking cheesy.
Here's the actual article
www.altcancer.com/docs/artemisinin.pdf

Ask him to look into it.
And get to a specialist if he's not one!!

my grandmother had a bad case of breast cancer, and she survived...

it will be difficult, but most of lifes trials are, or they wouldnt be trials  and they wouldnt make you a btter a person if they werent that way

i dont know you, but my heart is out to you, and i will be willing for your safetly, comfort and most of i will be willing that you get what you need in your life right now.

not to be happy, just what you need.... if this is what is happeneing than im sure there is a purpose.... my love to you.

PS my grandmother is fine after her therapy, they told her she wouldnt make it, she had some tough times, but now shes is an even better person than before, and she was already amazing

nothing i say may help... but there it is anyways, for you, from me.

Puppet, or just dumb?  Insensitive, to say the least.  Smoke right before you go to take the test, it will come up negative.

So they're active...  Ask him if in his best medical opinion it means they're going to run away with your breasts!?! ...  ok, lame, but I'm still going for laughter is the best medicine!

Im sooo freaked out now. I dont really know how to feel.

Don't be freaked out!  You knew it was a possibility and now the possibility is just much greater than it was before.  Be calm, breath.  Would you be more comfortable if I were in a leather suit?  *zip zip* *wields whip* Ok, now.  BE CALM

Seriously, hun...  I don't know what to tell you other than losing your breasts is better than losing your life, and hey, you get them back in a way!  Really, be happy that you have your life - and feel sexy because there's actually a fetish involving people throwing up (nasty, I know, but hey, you brought up the weird fetishes  )!!!

I know it is hard and a shock...  I can't imagine what you are going through!  I am wishing you the best, anyway!
 :sun:

Good luck, hun, much love!

Here's hoping things turn out for the best for you. :sun: Just remember that your condition is curable and don't lose hope, no matter how grim things may look to you right now. Have you looked into a support group for this type of thing? I'm sure there's one where you live, and they can be of real help in times like this...

after reading some of your posts about your breasts and possible mallignant cysts...

how did they test the cysts? did they just do an ultrasound? also, did they do a fine needle aspiration with each of the large cysts to determine whether or not they're cancerous? i'm quite puzzled upon the fact on how your doctor said you might have cancer that's already in "stage 2" and then saying that they might not be cancerous. if you are in stage 2 has your lymph nodes been affected?

i take it you're young still (not within the age of 40-50) which means that if it is indeed breast cancer, it's quite misfortunate since breast cancer is a rarity to get at a young age. hang in there, if you are indeed at stage 2, then the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else and you have a higher survival rate after surgery and treatment.

i understand what you're going through, i have a total of 6 cysts (2 being more than 5cm in width) in my breasts and had to go through tests to make sure that they're benign. i find it quite odd how you're going through a series of tests though (at the moment u said you're going through 3?), since the fine needle aspiration test after the ultrasound woudl determine if they're cancerous or not.

hang in there.

I have relatives and friends that have survived breast cancer. Perhaps a dozen or so over the years. I know of only one person who succumbed, at work, and she was caught VERY LATE IN THE GAME.

The key here is early detection, and it sounds like you have that key.

The coming times will be a trial, but not an insurmountable one by ANY MEANS.

Others have gone through what you're going through. There are many groups on the web, and your doctor should be handing you a list of local support groups for you to investiage. Please investigate them. Loneliness is as much a killer as the cancer itself.

I know this is a 'substance-oriented' forum, but I just gave this piece of advice in my last post: Drugs are not the answer here. If you use certain chemicals in conjunction with VALID meditation, then ok. Otherwise fall back on the bodies tools; drug free meditation, good diet, exercise.

God, The Goddess, Nature, et al did not form us with drugs in our body. Marijuana is a wonderful therapuetic substance. But if you're sick, and the MJ is not providing the calming effects it should, then that constitutes drug abuse not drug use.

Be wise, be safe and become healthy.

Peace to you.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph glands and the doctor said he would have to operate straight away to save her.

There was a very high chance of nicking nerves in the area that control the facial muscles which would have left parts of her face sagging.

She decided that she'd rather die of cancer than looking like a drooling freak for the rest of her life and refused surgery.

Turned out the doctor was wrong.

Get a second opinion from a specialist sharpish.

Yes mine are 5cm and 2cm

"i take it you're young still (not within the age of 40-50 ) which means that if it is indeed breast cancer, it's quite misfortunate since breast cancer is a rarity to get at a young age."

21 and yes my doctor also said this but he has a younger patients then me who had breast cancer but he said that since i am young that it should be fairly easy to treat and get me better. I have breast cancer on both sides of my family 2 aunts on my dads side and one on my moms side so its not very rare for me to have it too. And not just breast cancer all kinds are on bothsides

" i find it quite odd how you're going through a series of tests though (at the moment u said you're going through 3?), since the fine needle aspiration test after the ultrasound woudl determine if they're cancerous or not."

Hand breast exam which after that one i had to get a referal to a breast clinic specialist. i dont have insureance by the way so after my exam at planned parenthood where i first heard of the lumps they sent me to JPSwomens clinic which wouldnt take me because i wasnt a local so they told me to go to the hospital which is where I finally had an ultrasound and biopsie. Three Test!
