Poltergeist.....
    #3771894 - 02/12/05 06:55 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

Have you ever seen something that you cant explain? I have on MANY occasions. One of the strangest and hardest to explain happened shortly agter I got married, about 13 years ago.

We had an end table sitting near a window. With a plant near the window, and a photo in front of it.

Like this(taken as a visual aide, not an original  )

We had gone to the store and everything was OK. When we walked in the door we saw this.

The window was closed so there is no way the wind could have blown the plant over. And if it had, why wasnt the photo knocked over too? AND if the wind had blown the plant over why as it pointing toward the table and not away????

My wife and I thought LONG and hard about it and finally trioed to forget it.

Years later we went on a short weekend vacation. Took our (wind-up)alarm clock with us so we wouldnt over sleep. Had fun, packed up all our stuff, and came home. As we were unpacking, the clock was not there. I KNOW we packed it, but it was GONE.

Fine gotta go buy another clock. I was tired of the wind up clock and bought one with batteries. About 2 weeks later, Im sleeping and hear a clock ticking. WTF! My new clock dosent make any noise, yet there it is TICK-TOCK. I get up and start looking around and FIND the lost WIND-UP clock, under my bed sitting upright with the correct time!

WTF!

Just this last week I bought s new can of coffee and put it in the same place I always do. My wife comes and wakes me up looking for the coffee. I told her its were it is supposed to be. She said it isnt so I get up to SHOW here where it is. And its GONE. I took everything out of the cabinet, NO coffee. I looked EVERYWHERE for it. WE had some de-caf so she used it. I get up later to go buy some more coffee and look onemore tiome for the lost can....THERE it was right where I put it.

WTF???

There are always strange little shit like this going on.

Do I have a poltergeist or have I smoked one too many joints

Does anyone else have shit like this happen?

I know how you feel - I'm being haunted by the ghost of Bill Cosby. And the really scary part is he isn't dead yet!

Normaly its just things comming up missing, then suddenly showing back up near the place they are supposed to be. It happens so often that Im used to it now.

About two weeks ago I had a pair of short pants come up missing. A blue pair and a black pair. Looked high and low for them. GONE. I found them two days ago in my dresser, where they belong, on top of my other clothes!!!

Im not a believer in "ghosts". Im also pretty sure its not someone playing tricks. These things are strange and I have NO explanation for them.

Has anyone else had similar experiences????

I'm a skeptic.  I always try to find the rational explanation.  But in our last apartment (before we bought the house we now live in) there was one thing that happened all the time.  We would start a load of laundry, 30 minutes later you would go to see if it was ready for the dryer, and the lid on the washing machine would be up.  This would not allow the spin cycle to happen, so your load would be sitting there soaking in soapy water.  This washer was inside our apartment (no one but us had access) and it happened all the time to both myself and my wife.  I never could figure it out.  Either we were both really absentminded or the cat had learned to lopen the lid.  Or option 3, poltergeist....its just that I don't believe in ghosts.

Maybe one or both of you are sleep walkers?
My mum sleep walks, I've seen her ironing in her sleep, walking around the garden...
if you don't tell her then she doesn't remember...
She puts the weird stuff down to that mostly... :smirk:
