Glad Oven Ware Containers
H/Poo

H/Poo Simmer / blend

H/poo straining

H/poo bagging
Rubber band wrap bags, PC'ed 2 hours & allowed to cool to room temp.
Dumped into to alc swabbed Glad Oven Ware Containers, spawned @ 25% rate with colonized WBS. 2 holes in container lid, covered with duropore surgical tape, for gas exchange. The white you see is condensation, not colonization. Date 2/5 Incubated @ 80F.

Date 2/11 fully colonized.

Added Casing (Coir/verm/Peat ph adjusted with hydrated lime + added oyster shell flour / grit).
Intent was to CAC (add some colonized grain to casing material - for better pin set), but didnt mark which casing was which strain. So cannot CAC.
(NOTE TO SELF, mark which tray is what strain - next time - stupid).

Once H/poo has weather leached a bit, it smells somewhat like good garden soil. Even simmering, it doesn't have a real "fecal" smell.

Proof that sterilization of poo works too, not just pasteurization. Great work agar! Always an inspiration.

Close but NOT.
There are many variables. Stabled & grain fed, pasture fed with suppliments, grazed out on poor land, with few if any suplimental feed, weather & age.
8 year old poo sun baked petrified hard poo, is nothing like straight out of the hores ass & still steaming on a cool spring morning.
IMHO, best is same season & weathered just enough to not smell like urine, or shit.
But, any will work, some just better than others.

Sterilized H/poo has always worked. Check out Joshua's grow logs. But, you better be clean about the whole process. Sterilized substrate is very open to contamination, during the spawn adding stage.
In this instance spawn was added - under a flow/hood, same with casing material. BTW, casing material was also sterilized.
