What will happen to this casing?

O.k., here's the situation, I attempted my first casing last night and boy did I make a mess! 1pt. jars, Thai Koh Samui. To make a long story short, I ended up crumbling two seperate cakes (came from same syringe) in one tray next to each other. However, instead of making an even layer, I sort of piled one cake over here, and one over there in the same tray (pretty large), and then sort of shook it ever so slightly to even it out a little and covered in verm and then foil. My question is by combining the two different cakes, did I just cost myself some time or possibly waste some substrate? I read somewhere that only the stronger strain will survive and will take over the other substrate from the weaker cake. I guess after a few too many Jack and Cokes at the local watering hole last night I just wanted to make a big casing, you know how it goes ;). Anyway, I still have some fully colonized cakes ready to go. Thanx in advance for any replies.

As long as it was seperated pretty good it will work. I dont think 2 different strains will fruit if there supstrate is mixed, if that is yer question.

Since they were the same strain you're fine. most cultivators crumble a couple/few/several cakes/ container (depending on container size) as practice. They were the same strain from the same syringe, so there will not be a stronger one. Hope this sets your mind at ease

Substrates aren't mixed, per se, they are just sort of mixed at the edges. Thanks baraka and rev.

you should be fine.... you will probably end up with an uneven pinset, and as a result slightly sub-optimal yields.... i wouldn't really worry about it though.
