Missing a forum
    #3770763 - 02/12/05 02:02 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Gentlemen

We have plenty of fora here. I miss one though. An important one. A forum about NATURE.
So basic, taken so for granted, while @ stake, still it is not present.
Mushrooms and nature... Mushrooms a gateway to nature. Our inner, and the nature surrounding us.

I posted this in the pub, one reaction came: No more forums. Is this the attention nature gets from the people here?

Does this reflect the attitude of the average shroomer? I dont hope so. Nature deserves better, a lot better. Hence, we deserve nature.

MushroomFriend

Mister

There are several forums about NATURE at the Shroomery, among them.

- Mushroom Cultivation
- Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms
- Mushroom Hunting
- The Ethnobotanical Garden

Ow I dont see how environmental discussions fit in there. How does someones dedication to wolf research in Yellowstone fit in there?

I know you get multiple requests every week.

But again it seems nature is not on top of peoples lists.

A shame.

Frankly, this doesn't fit in there. The Shroomery is not the end of all sites. There are others.

It fits here better:

Do you think Im gonna check that link? I just owned you. You havent got anything to say now. Only thing you can do is show a respectless arrogant attitude. I hope you get it mirrored in a trip.

I was posting an idea, your reaction was shit thats why you jump to your link now as a last resort.

Happy that nature is not in your arrogant hands. A lot to learn from teh mushrooms you.

Jesus MF, relax man.  We seriously get TONS of requests for new forums, and you really should read the link that Anno pointed you to, as it will explain why we don't just go and create a forum upon every suggestion.  Honestly a thread about wolves in Yellowstone could easily fit into many of our forums, including Physical & Mental Well-Being (if it was about doing physical work to assist their preservation) or even the Pub where you can find an inviting environment for almost any type of discussion.  Gathering and Travel may also be somewhat appropriate if you'd like to organize a travel destination to go and help or observe the wolves.  Hell be creative.

All that said, maybe we will open up a forum strictly for nature in the future.
But just so you know, you'll catch many more flies with honey as opposed to vinegar.
Lighten up!

Yeah all can be discussed in the pub. Why doesnt he show that thread in the first place? Which I already read before I posted if it is the one im thinking of.

The wolves was an example. My reaction came from the ignorant responses Anno made. If management already is like this, hey what to expect from the "followers".

He made up a NO before. Then finding arguments afterwards and switching from one to the other. For me only showing he dont care. Simple reaction, I dont care about him.

Saying Nature can be discussed in Mushroom cultivation, Edibles and gourmet? What a laugh.
Is he complete nuts?

If wolves can be discussed on www.wolves.com, hey why not cut the art forum and point the people to www.art.com. OTD? WHY? The internet is jammed with chatrooms. Spirituality? Hey read that link dude and go to www.spiritchat.com.

So, bullshit.

Special forums about coooking!! art/literature! And you think nature so important to give it a place under "well being". Gonna post there cause you guys do make me SICK.

But you are right, the shroomery public doesnt see nature as an issue important enough. So why offer it as a separate forum? Ofcourse you could make a move first. But hey, with that manny tripper forums already, wtf should nature do there?

More and more its getting clear that I have no future here.

MF

Not a future here? Noone will be missing you and your very rude comments. You just bashed me a few times, manipulated what I said. Now I see you're bashing anno. Then you go on and on in OTD about how much you hate people that disrespect. Very smart. I think you should really consider going some place else. This community doesn't need people like you around.

If you feel you have no future here, well then you probably won't. How unfortunate that because we don't want to give such a broad topic its own forum, you would insinuate that our membership lacks compassion and concern for the many aspects of nature and the world in which we live.

I think you should really approach this a different way. Nature is integral to every aspect of this site. Even in Politics, Activism, & Law, I'm positive there are quite a few threads dedicated to environmental issues. Likewise in Physical & Mental Well-Being, there are threads dedicated to hiking/camping out in nature. Likewise in the Pub, people will post pictures of the places in Nature which they've found so beautiful. Likewise in Trip Tips, where seasoned psychonauts will suggest tripping out in the wonderous great outdoors for an experience not soon to be forgotten.

If you take the time to really consider and look a bit deeper (and not be so dead set on getting your way), you will see that nature is intimately involved in many aspects of this website and community. In the end however, you have to do what is right for you, as we are all responsible for ourselves and our own lives. Good luck to you.

Geo

I appreciate your way of approach, the intention/attitude.
And in a way, you are right. Nature is very broad, nature is everything. So yes, in the spiritual forum for exampel it could have a place.

I reacted with maybe too much fire, will PM Anno bout that. But did not like his way of responding, to a topic which touches my heart, at all. And when heart gets mad.....

I wouldnt like my thread, about a cool experience in nature for example or about the wolfs to be or not to be, getting soaked in masses of other posts in for exampel The Pub.

But with a rolled tobacco I just thought, it isnt my loss. I have had great benefit from the shroomery, in cultivating sense. Generous people helping me out when in need. Enthusiastic people helping keep my flame (growing mushrooms) burning when all contaminants stroke, bad syringes arrived etc.

Now I know how to grow, so. I stick to that. The cultivation of mushrooms and the couple of forums dedicated to this.

Answering questions when I can, making growlogs for the less experienced etc. And asking questions, bout the woodlovers for example.
I am a woodlover too...

My try outs in politics where not much of a succes either.

Anyway, nature as we (dont) know it rules. And I had been happy with a forum dedicated to it.

I accept that this is not the case, and I know that many requests are made. Its like the newspaper, there isnt a separate column bout nature.

It is taken for granted far too much. While at stake, far too much.

Nothing new....

Thanks,
MF
