the spores might not be the best [degraded ect] how old was the print and how long has it been in the syringe? these might be important. otherwise its prolly your imagination.

Well I made 4 cakes 2 with my syringe and two with pf syringe; I notice that my cakes colonize much faster, I thought because it was a newer print (the pf syringe was very old) My cakes produce some mushrooms but very deformed one grew with a double cap like one on top of another inverted, other grew short and wet and the pins are tiny and don't develop. The pf cakes are doing fine normal growth. The only thing I could think is heat I had several days of extreme heat and I was not around to take care of the cakes. (Mine went first into the chamber) By the way do you think is safe to consume the deformed shrooms.

The spores were new, but I will try again maybe was the substrate, or the water content. But what concerns me is that is the second time that this happens. Thanks any way

I've seen pics of a mushroom cap attached to another mushroom cap... Just think of it as siamese twins. Yes, you can still eat them.
