There's been a lot of posts about the Grateful Dead not touring this year,in my opinion the Dead can never tour again, its just not the same, and it don't matter who you stick in his place,it will never be the Grateful Dead.I just think they should be laid to rest as a touring band and be allowed to carry on as solo or combined projects, but not under the banner,Grateful Dead.

I really don't think they are trying to ween pepple off. I am pretty sure that they are still playing music together because they still enjoy playing together. I saw The Dead twice and I really enjoyed what they were doing. They aren't the Grateful Dead and don't claim to be, but it is still great music.

the grateful dead did die gracefully. this is a whole other band even though it has some of the originalmembers.i think the transition was pretty seamless

I agree, except that I think Phil will always play for a good cause, he will just stop touring with Phil and Friends.

I think the drummers are in the best form of they're lives. Bill's lookin' older tho. But you can tell, he still enjoys it just as much
