Let the Dead die gracefuly.
    #3767557 - 02/11/05 06:47 PM (12 years, 12 days ago)

There's been a lot of posts about the Grateful Dead not touring this year,in my opinion the Dead can never tour again, its just not the same, and it don't matter who you stick in his place,it will never be the Grateful Dead.I just think they should be laid to rest as a touring band and be allowed to carry on as solo or combined projects, but not under the banner,Grateful Dead. :mushroom2:

I really don't think they are trying to ween pepple off. I am pretty sure that they are still playing music together because they still enjoy playing together. I saw The Dead twice and I really enjoyed what they were doing. They aren't the Grateful Dead and don't claim to be, but it is still great music.

Anyone in this thread ever actually see Jerry in the 1970 - 1978 time period?

I agree, except that I think Phil will always play for a good cause, he will just stop touring with Phil and Friends.
