mass does not equal weight

this may belong on some other forum but I don't know which... I want it here.
Hilton has first dibs on the Moon, or something, right? so picture this: you fly on up to the Moon, you check into your hotel, you like your room. you go to the special padded room where you get to jump around at one sixth gravity, have lots of fun. now you make for the bar to mingle with the other incredibly wealthy guests. you order a coffee. it is delivered by a gracious, if slightly overweight, server. you go to raise the mug to your lips for a sip... now here's where it behooves me to slow down time somewhat, for the sake of clarity.
in the first moment of lifting the coffee mug, your hand, wrist and arm notice that it weighs about one sixth what it would weigh on earth. adjusting for this difference, you lift it towards your face quite a bit faster than you normally would. however, when you slow it down for final approach to your lips, you find that, while its weight is diminished, its mass and therefore its inertia have remained the same... splash, hot coffee all over your face! you march into the manager's office, tell him you're going to sue his ass off... et cetera, et cetera.
now, can someone tell me if I'm correct? would drinking beverages on the Moon be a crazy gentle juggling act all the time, fraught with spillages? I suppose Hiton would have such things figured out, and they'd serve hot drinks in little sippy cups... all drinks for that matter... and the urinals would kinda suck pee from your dink so that it wouldn't splash all over the bathroom, et cetera... but is my premise correct? the thing about weight not being equal to mass, and the resultant confusions for those of us used to one gee?

The padded room you speak of is in a mental hospital, all else is merely a hallucination brought on by a paranoid sczizophrenic episode. My advice is to relax and take your meds, and then they'll let you take the straight jacket off.

"You order a coffee. It is served by a gracious, if slightly overweight, server."
Actually, she may be oversized, but at 1/6 gravity, even a 300 lb. server on earth would weigh a mere 50 lbs. on the moon. Imagine the fun you could have later in your room, you he man!

Weight is variable and dependant on gravity. Mass is constant. Mass generates gravity by warping space time.

Now that in itself is very intriguing....!!! EVERY WOMAN a "SpiNNeR"....??? Say it's not soooo....! Well, at least one "Gee"*COUGH*(spot)*COUGH* would be consistent...
Heck, even in a padded room, I see no disadvantage to the situation at all....!? W000000T W00000T.... (Paris on the MooN...? )
****AAAAHHHHEEEMMMMMMM***** Yeah, that would be pretty cool, in an innocent kinda~ way.... :::::He said in a very scientific kinda~ voice.:::::

Exactly! It seems to be a generally misunderstood concept with most people. Here's a good explaination: mass is a measurement of the amount of matter something contains, while weight is the measurement of the pull of gravity on an object. And as you already ascertained, mass (and its corresponding inertia) never change, no matter what the gravitational pull may be in a particular location....

when you go to mingle with the rich on the moon you will have to sign a legal disclaimer you will pay through the nose and you will like it. before leaving you will have to take a course that will confirm your knowledge of low gravity effects and that will instill a commitment to not raising any lawsuits against the hotel or the airline etc.

Aaaaahh, in your reality, you just got a drink from the server.... I did however say nothing about the server....
I met a very nice and adventurous front desk receptionist that scored the keys the exclusive "Bubble Dome" suites due to a lucky final cancelation.... After we spoke, it turns out we had been in the same band camp (up in Canada) for two years in a row.... She, the Tuba, and I, the French horn - braces and ALL.... Just look at those teeth...! ===> HONK HONK....
It alos turns out she frequents a message board called "The Moonery".... It's a small world....? Being genuinely kind to the help staff never hurts, they are very much people too.... Once I told her my theories about "The ConCATinAtor", our beings became ONE.... (1+1=1)=FUN
I can't really say "lighten up a bit" because you are already at 1/6th yer~ weight, but enjoy your sippy cup cocktails from your male server.... Et cetera, et cetera....
