Its a quite known MAOI ,though not such a usefull one..Search the forum for info. Also search about it in the google for passages by Gracie and Zarkov.

Unfortunatyelly its quite heavy material with all the tannins and such, and quite weak!

Looking for lesser known maois? Look at Tribulus Terrestris known as puncture vine...It is reputed that 15 gramms of the seeds inhibit MAO A (contains harmine harmaline)

I just wanted something really cool to grow in case my beloved Rue dissapears, haven't been able to keep anything alive.

Have you seen the flowers?  Makes me horney.  I know it's like 80:1, doesn't mean tannins can't be removed

How far north does Tribulus Terrestris grow? Puncture vine, sounds bitchin' thanks for info

Oh ,by any means, grow the passiflora species! Its beautiful and i am owner of some.Great sedative properties, nice tasting fruit and great morphology of flowers...They are pretty hardy as well, they even tolerated frost (In Greece whe i say frost i mean around -7 - 10 Celsius)

I think the tannins can be removed ,if you leave them to percipitate a great load of them gathers on the bottom as a "gooey" mass ( especially in big extractions, like one kilo of dried foliage)

Now...Tribulus Terrestris...Hmmm...Its actually considered a weed, you can find many pictures of it in the web.You may have even encountered it if you have pets or bicycle (they are named PUNCTURE vine for a very good reason  ) . I dont know its geographic boundaries but i think it can be found troughout Europe. How North are you?

By the way,i have been unsucessful with Rue as well, and take into account i live in Greece....Well,maybe some day i will have my own plantation of Rue

By the way,on the tannin issue of passiflora : Maybe you can get rid of the tannins by persipitating the alkaloids in the solution using the Manske method...

In this method you saturate your solution with salt, cool it in the fridge and watch the alkaloids percipitate!
