Is it true that manners went out in the mid-70s? I mean, I am expecting no shroom other than P pelliculosa to be around for more than a few days. Shroomers: Have respect: Leave at least one type of each shroom around after harvest.

so what is it that you are getting at anyway?
If there were no rewards to reap,
No loving embrace to see me through
This tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
Gonna wait it out.

like one would hope but never really expect
to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime
and stopping right at my Birkenstocks,
and me yelping...Holy fucking shit!

his poit is if we depredate all the patches of wild mushrooms in the future will be no mushrooms....
if we leave at least one mushroom, it produces spores.
In mexico, exactly in the town of huautla in the past there was a lot of mushrooms, now they come from other mountains, because no more mushrooms grow there..got it???
be respecteful with nature....

that is actually very interesting!..i leave all mushrooms behind..cant find any that id like to eat around here..just hard for me to tell whether indiospree is serious or not sometimes..thats cool..is it true that you should thump the caps on them before you pick them as well? is this effective in distributing spores?

Most mushrooms you'll ever find will have already spread their spores. It's natural! Considering many, if not most, Psilocybians mature to the Sexual stage in a matter of days, I wouldn't think that leaving that last one would prove to be more beneficial than any of the many others you grabbed in you picking. One single mushroom is not going to speed up the process of more mushrooms, due to leaving it there and hoping a shitload more will join it.

That depends on the locale & the number of people seeking the treasure. As with any resource, there is "sustainable" vs. "unsustainable" harvesting.
Once, long ago, in a town called Eugene, OR there was a park where the Ps. cyanescens came up every year in the Rhododendron garden. Each year small patches appeared in different spots, & those of us who knew what to look for also knew that "loose lips sink ships." We picked responsibly, kept our mouths shut, hid the patches under branches & leaves, & left plenty of big overgrown specimens to spread their spores.
Then one year there was a massive fruiting, they took over large sections of the garden, were freakin' EVERYWHERE! So we picked our fill & told a few friends who picked theirs, but still left plenty to sporinate.
Year after that, word got out bigtime. By mid-November all the high school kids were up there at 6 in the morning, digging through the mulch & picking every last tiny pinhead before the veils even had time to break. Of course the cops got wise & started patrolling the park heavy, & the Parks Dept. sent out crews to spray fungicide throughout the garden & eliminate the "problem." (Which of course also killed off a lot of Rhododendron & other garden shrubs, since these plants require a fungal-dominated soil biology to grow at all. DUH!!!)
So, end of story. End of mushrooms in Hendricks Park. I believe there's an old fairytale about "The Goose Who Laid The Golden Eggs" which describes this principle rather succinctly.
