After harvesting, how long until its too late to clone on agar?

I was curious as to how long you have after harvesting before your shroom flesh is no longer viable to be grown on agar.

The sooner after harvest you get the sample on agar, the better your chances of success. How long is too long? There are too many variables involved to accurately answer this, including how the mushroom was stored, the vitality of the strain, etc.
