Too much humidity?
    #376330 -

is it possable for the terr. to be too humid, my cakes (next time im trying casing) started out producing tall gracefull looking mushrooms... still producing those, just a lot less, and a lot more aborts, when i pick the aborts off they seem water logged? should i cut down on the misting? maybe leave the top off for a couple hours? thanks in advance

How are you humidifying now? Perlite? Just misting? Are your cakes sitting directly on the perlite?

sorry about lack of details, im usually really good with that sort of thing, i was getting ready to leave for work - im using perlite, i mist it once every other day, and add steaming water once a week and a half, and no the cakes arent directly on the perlite.

steaming water is very bad. you need to mist at least once
a day. humidity doesnt create waterlogged shrooms. the
cakes are getting too much water.

Humidity doesn't create waterlogged mushrooms? My first time round i had an ultra sonic on 24/7 the humidity was off the hook(they were at a friends told him to turn it on for a min when the humid got low,i even bought a meter) anyway the shrooms grew FAT the stems were completly filled like a ballon i mean big dude...they were normal pf cakes 1/2 and they were off the floor...now the amount of water that you could even squeeze from the stem was increadable i didnt even put that much in the cakes...now the ONLY source of water(couldnt of been water from the cakes) was the air....so my deductions are that shrooms cag get waterlogged.. i could be wrong but if my shrroms were "producing" water that would be great for dessert countries....
