chng perlite, how often?

I currently just have a poor mans set-up. This is new to me..cause I usually have a better set-up..humidifiers, etc. ( humidifier problems ). How often should you change perlite. There are no signs of contams. and the perlite is plenty moist.

I leave it untill I put a new batch in.
