milet flour as sub for brf?

at the store i saw milet flour. curious to know if this can be used instead of brf in the pf tek, steamed instead of pc'ed?

yes, used it in the past. Didn't see much benefits if I remember correctly and I think its more expensive than BRF. But it works.

was the potency about the same as brf or weaker or stronger?

Don't really remember...I don't believe potency changes with fruiting substrate personally but some people do.  If thats true, I doubt the difference between millet flour and rice flour effects it since they are pretty similar. 

I would suggest getting both BRF and millet flour and make a mixture of them and use that.  The more varied the grains the better.  It may effect potency for the better too but if not you'll at least get more booms that way and you'll just have to eat more :mushroom2:

would it be possible to just grind up WBS and Millet to make your own flour instead of buying it from the store.
Ive heard of people making chunky BRF in a blender using whole brown rice... but you could probaly use a coffee grinder to get it nice and powdery.

If the potency doesn't change, would the harvest be larger?

Potency is based on strain, amount of nutrients in the substrate, growing conditions, etc. There are very few differences between brf and millet flour nutrient wise. And the potency will not very enough for you to notice a difference on a change that minute in the formula.

I dunno about that for sure. I think millet has higher nutes then BRF from what I've seen of fruits from both. Never worked with BRF myself so I am speculating out of my ass a bit...but still thats what I think. I think the potency could increase. might not though because there are other facotrs besides just that. Either way it shouldnt be any weaker..if its not much more expensive go for it. Run a side by side comparison like 6 jars of each or something and see what you think yourself. Theres no one who can tell you better how your grow will go then you!
