Agar problem

yo, i'm just starting out. and i've got some malt/agar stuff i need to cook. it says i need to use a pressure cooker but is there any other way i can prepare the agar without a PC?

with an autoclave, I wouldnt recomend preparing it without a PC.

i should really use a pc. but my pc just crapped out on me. i'm just looking to see if there are any other methods that would work.

if it's powdered, use a small amount and mix it in the proportions, try it in the microwave, keep in mind that you could have a boil over problem, here is a littl info you may find helpful

Yes, you can prepare agar quite easily without a pressure cooker/autoclave.  :smile:

I burned out a PC and used this technique for a while with great success.  :thumbup:
