    #3750110 - 02/08/05 09:39 AM (11 years, 9 months ago)

basicaly i was just messing around and tried this..

material.
1x tupperware container.
1x plastic ice cream tub
distilled water
plastic wrap.
1x fish aquerium pump
1x heat pad

basicaly i just took the ice cream tub and filled it with about an inch and a half of water, then i put my other tupperware container with my casing inside so its floating on the water wrap the topof the ice cream tub with plastic wrap and cut a small whole on the side of the ice cream tub for the air hose. and placed the whole thing on a heat pad.

79 degrees inside with 89% humidity

hope it helps someone.

Just thought i'd share this with you. The tech i'm using is basically the same, but not quite. I have:

1 jar -any kind will do just as long as it's pretty big. (I used an aquarium thing for a betta(don't know if thats spelled right) You can get them at wal-mart. (By the way, a betta is a small fish that dosn't need an air pump to live. Lots of pet stores have them and their tanks which look like big clear vases.)

1 fishtank pump.

1 fishtank heater.

All I really did was put the jar in the terrarium/tub that i have for my cakes. I have the hose run through into the tub and into the jar. (Make sure to have water in it. (of course)) The air pump has a filter(not sure which kind of filter it is.) over the air intake to prevent contamination. The fishtank heater is set to 74 degrees and placed into the jar and there you go. Humidity.

Mine almost constantly sits at 100% humidity and 70 - 76 degrees.

Might as well ask in here: is ~85% humidity alright?

For casings that is almost optimal. But for jars you want 99-100% humidity.

Ah ok, thanks. And if I were to use this case tek, when I place it in the fruiting chamber, a temp of around 70 - 75 is ok, right?
