Quite a while back i read something about a band that made an album. This album consisted of 4 Cd's which could be played separately but for the best results should be played all 4 at the same time so requiring 4 sound systems. So all together i figured it would be pretty intense to listen to if they had done it properly...
Now i was very much interested in purchasing a copy, or 4. But i have no idea what the name of the band or the name of the album is so if anyone has any idea that would be awesome.

I remember reading about that too, it would be a pain in the ass to perfectly synchronize them though I think. next to needing 4 sound systems
It would probably better to mix them together so you can just burn it on 1 cd, but only if the music is any good

I think it would sound great to hear different parts coming from different sides. I read a report of some guys who did it and said it was great to hear it.
Let's say you don't like the vocals or whatever you could just leave them out...
But i must admit i have no idea what the music itself is like...

hey that sounds like the flaming lips zaireeka
you can get it on amazon and i know i have seen torrents of it but they may have gone the way of suprnova
i have it but i have never listened to more than 3 at a time cause it is kinda hard to coordinate but if you like the lips stuff or weird psych rock it is pretty amazing even individually
hope this helps

Tribes of Neurot (Neurosis' alter-ego) has also conducted similar experiments. Several of them, actually.
