Signs of Mushrooms?

I scrapped some spores into a terrarium I made with an 1 1/2 inches of vermiculite on the bottom and 3 inches of gathered moist cowpie broken apart on top.

Anway I put it into an insulated large lunch pale with a heat rock next to it. The temp is 87 degrees and I spray it once a day with water.

After four days one tiny stem like thing with a small top popped out. It is 1/4 of an inch long and about the size of a needle with a small cap and its clear/white. What is this? Isnt it really early for mushrooms to pop out? Is this normal to happen?

By the way the mush is Amazonian Cubensis (sp?)

Just how fresh was this cowpie? Are you sure it wasn't already colonized by some other kind of mycelium? If it was, you obviously didn't pasteurize or sterilize it: That would be the only reason for you to have any mushrooms popping up already, and I can almost guarantee your failure.

You really should take a more conventional approach if you are doing this for the first time...try doing the PF Tek or another grain based tek before you potentially waste more good spores...
