please excuse my ignorance but...
is it ok to put fresh mushrooms in a ziplock bag with no air in it?

Well sure its Ok, well that is if you want a gooey slimey mess. Its best to atleast fan dry them before you zip-lock them, with cracker dry being the best way.

should only do it after u dry em, cuz the mushrooms will start dissolving and releasing water, and like jonny shaggs said all you will have is a gooey slurry in your bag

If you are intent on keeping them fresh, either put them in a paper(NOT plastic) bag, or a button crate(culinary shroom container), and refridgerate them..this will keep them for at least a week and maybe up to two, but I would hesitate on keeping them wet any longer than that..

just so you are aware, the easiest way I found to dry your critters is to collect the following items: a black t-shirt, a work light(clip up style from hardware store,apprx $7.00.),a 60 watt light bulb, and some paper towels. Now, take your critters and lay them on a single piece of paper towel, place your black t-shirt over your critters, clip the work light 19 - 24 inches above your critters, switch light on and in apprx 24 hours...crispy critters !!! Now using this method I have found no difference in potency from other methods and it beats the hell out of buying desicants. Sure this method is simple-but effective.
