oh yeha, make sure its near the bottom, as CO2 is heavier that O2,

That's the way I do it. Right above the perlite layer.

I do as well, except I use a small amount of a cotton ball in the hole to keep most of the humidity inside the terrarium.

I cut a 3"x4" hole in the side and placed a filter disk over it. (duct tape)

i don't think there would be a measurable difference.

think about it. if you have a positive pressure environment like an air pump in a terrarium, that pumped air will definitely push old air out.
